The World African Researchers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, and Scientists Alliance (WARESA) is inviting passionate, dedicated, and service-oriented individuals to join our growing volunteer leadership teams in Asia.
WARESA’s mission is to empower students, professionals, researchers, and innovators from Africa and of African heritage by fostering collaboration, leadership, innovation, and community engagement across the globe.

AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
🇰🇷 WARESA KOREA
- Welfare & Outreach Lead (1 Position)
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Welfare & Outreach Department.
- Develop and coordinate initiatives that support the welfare and integration of African students and professionals in Korea.
- Build relationships with local organizations and community stakeholders.
- Coordinate welfare responses and outreach activities.
- Supervise and mentor the Welfare & Outreach Coordinators.
- Submit regular activity reports to the WARESA Korea Executive Team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Experience in community service, student affairs, or volunteer work.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Welfare & Outreach Coordinators (2 Positions)
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing welfare and outreach programs.
- Support communication with community members and volunteers.
- Help organize networking events, seminars, and social activities.
- Assist the Department Lead in administrative and operational duties.
- Promote WARESA’s activities within the African community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
- Passion for community service and volunteerism.
- Public Relations and Communications Lead (1 Position)
Responsibilities
- Lead the Public Relations and Communications Department.
- Develop strategies to enhance WARESA’s visibility and public image.
- Coordinate official announcements, campaigns, and media engagement.
- Manage WARESA Korea’s communication channels.
- Supervise and mentor the Public Relations and Communications Coordinators.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote organizational activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or social media management.
- Creative thinking and strong organizational abilities.
- Partnership and Fundraising Coordinators (2 Positions)
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying potential partners and sponsors.
- Support the preparation of partnership proposals and fundraising campaigns.
- Maintain communication with existing and prospective partners.
- Help organize networking events and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Assist the Department Lead with administrative and operational tasks related to partnerships and fundraising.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork abilities.
- Interest in nonprofit development, partnerships, and community building.
- Previous volunteer or leadership experience is an advantage but not required.
🇹🇼 WARESA TAIWAN
- Public Relations and Communications Lead (1 Position)
Responsibilities
- Lead the Public Relations and Communications Department.
- Develop strategies to enhance WARESA’s visibility and public image.
- Coordinate official announcements, campaigns, and media engagement.
- Manage WARESA Taiwan’s communication channels.
- Supervise and mentor the Public Relations and Communications Coordinators.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote organizational activities.

- Basic knowledge of social media management or graphic design is an advantage.
- Commitment to promoting African excellence and collaboration.
- Partnership and Fundraising Lead (1 Position)
Responsibilities
- Lead the Partnership and Fundraising Department for WARESA Taiwan.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with universities, organizations, businesses, and community groups.
- Support the development of fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities.
- Coordinate donor engagement and relationship management.
- Supervise and mentor the Partnership and Fundraising Coordinators.
- Work closely with the Taiwan Executive Team and WARESA Headquarters to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in fundraising, project management, business development, or community engagement is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Partnership and Fundraising Coordinators (2 Positions)

THREE-MONTH PROBATIONARY PERIOD
WARESA is committed to building an active and dedicated volunteer community. To ensure mutual commitment and accountability, all successful applicants will initially serve as Probationary Volunteers for a period of three (3) months.
During this period, volunteers will be expected to:
- Attend departmental meetings;
- Participate actively in assigned projects and activities;
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and teamwork;
- Uphold the values and mission of WARESA.
At the conclusion of the probationary period, volunteers who have actively contributed and demonstrated commitment may be formally confirmed as official members of their respective departments.
Please note that all positions are voluntary and unpaid.
VOLUNTEERS’ COMMITMENT
By accepting a volunteer position with WARESA, volunteers agree to:
- Participate actively in their assigned roles and responsibilities.
- Attend orientation, training sessions, and departmental meetings.
- Complete assigned tasks and contribute to both ongoing and upcoming WARESA programs and events.
- Maintain regular communication with their assigned team members, Department Lead, and supervisors.
- Dedicate approximately 4–5 hours per week to WARESA activities.
- Commit to a volunteer term of 6–12 months, subject to satisfactory completion of the initial three-month probationary period.
- Primarily work and collaborate with WARESA Headquarters and their respective country chapters.

- Ensure volunteers have access to the appropriate communication tools, resources, and digital platforms required for their responsibilities.
- Recognize volunteers’ efforts and provide constructive feedback on their performance and professional growth.
- Award a Certificate of Appreciation upon the successful completion of the volunteer tenure.
- Where appropriate and feasible, provide a Letter of Recommendation or Professional Reference to support future academic, professional, or leadership opportunities.
✅ ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants should:
- Support WARESA’s mission and values.
- Be willing to dedicate time and effort to volunteer service.
- Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
- Currently reside in, or have previously resided in, the country for which they are applying (Republic of Korea for WARESA Korea positions and Taiwan for WARESA Taiwan positions).
- Be available to actively participate during the three-month probationary period.
