WARESA ACTIVITIES
The stream of WARESA Activities are towards the students, engineers, researchers, scientist, academicians within each specific country. Note that is only a guideline, each country can adapt the activities based on their needs
A.ECADEW (Early Career Development Workshop). This work should include when possible (not limited)
Academic roundtable where academicians and scientists in that country can share their experience
Industry roundtable, this a discussion for those who work in Industry and entrepreneurs
Research Projects Discussion: This session should include Bs, Ms or PhD research topics discussion. This is a type of a typical summer research school where the students submit their abstract and selected students will be invited for either ppt presentations or posters. Note that those abstracts will be published in a document posted on WARESA
Selected projects are invited for Chrono Thesis: This is a competition where a time slot is given to students (3 to 5min ) to precisely and briefly explain their research
B.Awards
The awards targets two categories, first the African descendants and their supporters
The awards are recommended to both consider a mix category (male and female) and also female only category. The awards should encourage Bs, Ms, and PhD students, those who are postdoc, Asst Prof or Assoc. Professors, entrepreneurs and those who were able to work in industry after their Bs or Ms
The African descendant’s supporters is meant for people who have exceptionally supported the African students or community in that country
C Scholarship: This includes tuition scholarship or living expenses for selected students in that country
D. Webinars
These are online or face to face kind of interviews where successful researchers, entrepreneurs, or scientists, share their journeys. There are called WARESA SMM. It should target students on all levels, scientists, academicians, entrepreneurs and industry professionals
E. Publication Mentoring Program is meant for Waresa members who need the support of senior members to finalize their work and publish them
The activities for the continent or respective countries are divided into two
Universities Partnership Programs, this is meant to create connection between institutions in Africa and institutions from other countries
Africa Symposium on Sustainable Development (ASSUDEV)
This symposium is made by two conferences
The Africa Conference on Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship is a venue where we invite selected entrepreneurs from Africa to show their achievement as they learn from other entrepreneurs from developed countries. This conference include both scholarly contributions and technical reports from government officials
The other conference is ADITRAFO (Africa Accelerated Digital Transformation Forum). This forum emphasizes mainly on how digitalized services can improve the services such as digitalized farming and other.
Also the One2Ten Series are recommendation of policies adoption from level 1 to level 10. For instance, in case of corruption, suggest 1 to 10 policy packages that an institution can try to implement, step by step to fight against corruption
The LEFO Series aims at showcasing what other countries have done and achieved with more details.
Note WARESA encourages that each submitted articles is accompanied by a video, which could help in better understanding
