WARESA MIREC TRAVEL AWARD

MULTIDISCIPLINARY INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE [MIREC]

We are pleased to announce that WARESA MIREC will be granting the Travel Award to two junior researchers. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from WARESA

This award provides financial support for the winners to attend WARESA MIREC in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.

An eligible applicant must:

Undergraduate or Masters students (of African descent)
Currently residing and studying/working in a middle or high-income country, Click here to view the list of countries
Register for the conference and attend in person
Submit an abstract for the conference and choose to apply for the travel grant
Consent to their information being published on WARESA related platform

The winners will receive certificate and a full sponsorship (return flight ticket and accommodation) to attend the 4th WARESA MIREC in Germany (27-28 June)

Please submit your abstract (https://www.waresa.org/mirec) for the 2025 WARESA MIREC (Spring Edition in Taiwan) Prizes will be announced and awarded during the conference.

For each applicant, the referees will assign scores in the following areas:

Presentation merit – Rating the applicant’s ability to present and explain his/her research projects or findings
Research project/abstract – Is there a strong rationale for the study? Does the study add significantly to the existing body of knowledge? Is this a novel question or is a novel technique used to answer the research question?
Motivation – Rating the motivation and the need of the applicant to engage into research

Multidisciplinary International Research Conference (MIREC) is the most inclusive academic event dedicated to WARESA members.

Students with little or no research experience (undergraduate or Ms students ) are invite to submit their thesis proposals, to receive guidance on how to get involved in research along with the value of participating in undergraduate research

Students (MS or Ph.D students) with average research experience are also provided with comments and suggestions that will help them to excel in their research pursuits and beyond

MIREC is dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of Multidisciplinary Research, thereby presenting a consolidated view to the interested researchers in the related fields.
The conference looks for significant contributions to basic and applied sciences in theoretical and practical aspects.

Authors are solicited to contribute to the conference by submitting abstracts that illustrate research proposals, results, projects, and industrial experiences that describe potential advances in the following areas, but are not limited to:

Registration Guide

After your short/full paper or abstract is accepted, you will receive the notification of acceptance including the guideline. The conference fees cover participation in the technical sessions, administration, documentation, (for author registration only) and refreshments including lunch and coffee break

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in registration fee, the delegates need reserve rooms themselves, we advise you reserve rooms as early as you can.

Refund Policy

If the participants request cancellation and refund due to personal reasons, the following refund policy applies.
* 60 days ahead of the conference: 70% of payment refund
* 30-60 days ahead of the conference: 50% of payment refund
* Within 30 days ahead of the conference: no refund

Cancellation and refund request must be made formally via email. No shows will not be refunded. The organizing committee is not responsible for problems beyond our control, such as weather conditions, campus conditions, travel difficulties, visa problems, etc.
* The organizing committees reserves the right to change the dates and place of the conference due to force majeure.
* Losses thus incurred from the force majeure events shall not be liabled and refunds policy shall not apply as well.

Visa Application Support

Visa Application Declaration

WARESA hereby reiterates that we are NOT authorized to assist any Visa application works. We, here includes the organization itself, all conference secretariats, international liaisons and any individuals or parties related to WARESA. It is clearly stated on all websites that no other documents would be provided except the Invitation Letter issued by the Conference Committee Board (along with WARESA Registration Certificate provided by the Korean government).

We understand there’re some embassies require Letter of Guarantee. Hence, we’d like to emphasize that Letter of Invitation is different from Letter of Guarantee.

Letter of Invitation:
A Letter of Invitation is a proof that your paper/abstract submission and registration application are accepted by the conference committee board. It perhaps could help with your visa application. However, it does not guarantee you a visa.

Letter of Guarantee:
A Letter of Guarantee is an individual/party agrees to be legally and financially responsible for your staying during your visit in the country you’re going to. WARESA does not and will not provide such document.

In conclusion, please take note that WARESA does not issue guarantee letter, schedule of staying letter, local sponsor letter, governmental format invitation letter, and etc.
Any violation of the WARESA visa application regulations is absolutely not tolerable .

Should your application be denied, WARESA cannot change the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor will we engage in discussion or correspondence with the MOFA or the Embassy on behalf of the applicant. The registration fee cannot be refunded when the VISA application of individual being denied. However, the refund will abide by the above mentioned REFUND POLICY
