2024 WARESA Awards is mainly organized by WARESA South Korea team. We have 60 awards for 10 categories (A-J).
The first 40 awards (A-I categories) are for African students (Bs, Ms, and PhD), researchers, engineers, scientists, academicians, entrepreneurs currently living in South Korea. The main objective of these awards (first 40 awards) is to recognize and reward excellence in research for both STEM, Social Sciences and humanities fields.
The last 20 awards (J category) called “Friend of Africans in …… AWARD” celebrate non-African who contributed to the success of Africans in their current countries of residence. These include (but not limited to) professors, entrepreneurs, people in public or private sectors who have helped African immigrants (students, refugees,….) in their current countries of residence. Within the 20 awards, 5 are for South and 15 are the following countries (1 award for each country):
Japan, Australia, Israel, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Germany, China, Hongkong, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Brazil, Cuba, France.
The above countries were chosen for this edition because WARESA has already representatives or team in those countries. In 2025, we plan to cover 31 countries for all the awards categories
