Waresa is committed into bringing together African Researchers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs and Scientists all over the world.

Currently, several member associations are being associated from South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, France, UK, Singapore, China, Hongkong, Brazil, USA, Canada and others. Waresa operates two types of membership: Regular Membership and Active Membership. Regular members are those who applied for membership and are supporting WARESA initiatives and activities. Active members are regular members with paid subscription fees.  

However each country based chapter, can remove or add an additional membership type based on their needs. We do encourage to apply by clicking your current country of residence, but in case there is no WARESA chapter in your current country of residence, you can apply here:

For Individual:

A. Student Member (Undergraduate [of African descent residing in a specific country])

B. Graduate Member (Ms or PhD student [of African descent residing in a specific country] )

C. Associate Member (Bs or Ms holder working in public or private company [of African descent residing in a specific country])

D. Member (PhD Holder [of African descent in a specific country] NB. Entrepreneurs or people working in industry for a specific time can also be considered as members)

E. Senior Member (Member with outstanding contributions [of African descent residing in a specific country])

F. Fellow Member (Senior Member with unusual distinction [of African descent residing in a specific country])

G. Affiliate Member (does not meet A-F, with at least a bachelor degree

H. Senior Affiliate Member (Affiliate member who rendered academic or financial support to the Alliance)

I. Native Affiliate Member ( with least a bachelor degree [of non African descent residing in a specific country ])

J. Senior Native Affiliate Member ( Native Affiliate who rendered academic or financial support to the association )

K. Honorary Member (with least a bachelor degree, and rendered exceptional academic or financial support to the Alliance)

For institutions & enterprises:

L. Bronze Member

M. Silver Member

N. Gold Member

O. Platinum Member

P. Affiliate Member

L-O include both yearly membership and sponsorship level

P(affiliate member) includes only membership for institution

NB. From L to O, it concerns institutions that rendered academic, organizational or financial support to the Alliance and the amount for each level should be announced in due time

The fees are not mandatory however for each national or international WARESA event, there will be rates for active members (who paid their membership fees) or regular members. For those who want to pay their membership fees, it is outlined as follows:

30 $ for undergraduate students (Undergraduate)

50 $ for graduate students

70 $ for regular Associate members

100$ for remaining individual membership types

For institutions membership fees,

Bronze Member 1000$

Silver Member 2000$

Gold Member 5000$

Platinum Member 10000$

Free for all Senior, Fellow, Honorary Membership types (D, E, F and K)

Those who are volunteering for Waresa chapters and activities are exempted from membership fees

2.  Free events such as webinars are only allowed for regular members (those who paid their membership fees)
Those in any volunteering position (IT Team or Admin Team) are exempted from membership fees
