  1. Social Media Handlers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage and create content for WARESA’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
    • Engage with followers, monitor trends, and build an online community around our mission
    • Develop strategies to increase engagement and grow the organization’s presence online
  • Skills Needed: Social media management, content creation, community engagement, analytics
  1. Post Designers (Graphic Designers)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Design visual content for social media posts, campaigns, and other digital and print materials
    • Ensure designs are aligned with WARESA’s branding and mission
    • Create infographics, event posters, and promotional materials for campaigns
  • Skills Needed: Graphic design (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva), creativity, branding
  1. Aspirant Journalists
  • Responsibilities:
    • Write articles, blog posts, press releases, and other content showcasing WARESA’s work
    • Conduct interviews with key figures and document impactful stories from across Africa
    • Assist in gathering information and crafting compelling narratives for global audiences
  • Skills Needed: Strong writing skills, research, media relations, storytelling
  1. Website Creators / Developers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Help design and develop WARESA’s website, ensuring it is functional, user-friendly, and accessible
    • Regularly update content on the site, ensuring accurate representation of WARESA’s projects and initiatives
    • Maintain website performance and troubleshoot any technical issues
  • Skills Needed: Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress), UX/UI design, SEO
  1. Documentalists / Archivists
  • Responsibilities:
    • Organize and catalog WARESA’s documents, photos, videos, and other media for easy access
    • Help manage archives of organizational records, reports, and other important materials
    • Assist in preparing annual reports, newsletters, and other content for stakeholders
  • Skills Needed: Organizational skills, data management, attention to detail, archiving software
  1. Event Coordinators
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist with organizing and coordinating events, webinars, conferences, and workshops
    • Handle event logistics, such as scheduling, coordinating speakers, and managing invitations
    • Promote events through social media, email campaigns, and other outreach efforts
  • Skills Needed: Event planning, project management, communication, problem-solving
  1. Fundraising & Grant Writing Volunteers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Research potential donors and grant opportunities that align with WARESA’s mission
    • Write and submit compelling grant proposals and fundraising applications
    • Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support specific initiatives
  • Skills Needed: Grant writing, fundraising strategy, research, persuasive writing
  1. Volunteer Coordinators
  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and coordination
    • Ensure volunteers are engaged, supported, and have a positive experience working with WARESA
    • Organize schedules and assist in volunteer training and development
  • Skills Needed: Organizational skills, communication, people management, leadership
  1. Marketing & Outreach Volunteers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing strategies to raise awareness about WARESA’s work
    • Develop marketing materials, including email campaigns, newsletters, and promotional content
    • Help with outreach to build partnerships and support WARESA’s initiatives
  • Skills Needed: Marketing, content creation, communication, public relations
  1. Video Production & Editing Volunteers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Produce and edit video content for social media, campaigns, and events
    • Create compelling video stories that highlight WARESA’s impact across the continent
    • Assist with video production for promotional materials and events
  • Skills Needed: Video production, editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro), storytelling
  1. Community Engagement Volunteers
  • Responsibilities:
    • Work closely with African communities to foster relationships and drive engagement with WARESA’s projects
    • Organize community events, outreach programs, and awareness campaigns
    • Help build and maintain connections with local organizations, governments, and stakeholders
  • Skills Needed: Communication, public speaking, relationship-building, community organizing

Eligibility:

  • Volunteers must be of African descent to apply for any of these positions. We are specifically looking for individuals who identify with African heritage, cultures, and communities, as we believe in the importance of representing and empowering African voices within our organization.

Duration:

  • Volunteer for one year with the opportunity for renewal, based on performance and program needs.
